7. Story behind how you got your nickname, if you remember it? 

Nothing special. Someone tripped over me while I was laying down watching a movie along the floor and they said “Watch it, Russ Dabus.” And it stuck.

8. Your fondest memory of being a Phi Psi? 

The chartering initiation and every initiation I've been to since.

 

9. Your most embarrassing moment as a Phi Psi? 

I did the Stone Cold Steve Austin beer smashing thing at Greek God except with chocolate milk. 

10. Your proudest moment as a Phi Psi? 

2012 GAC when the chapter was awarded Grand Chapter. 

11. Any unique memories from your time as a Phi Psi? 

I got to have lunch with Dudd Daniels and write an article about him for The Shield.

12. Any fraternal advice you would give to an undergraduate Phi Psi today?
Fraternal advice? Don’t sweat the small stuff. Go out, make friends and experience new things.

Verizon Wireless Sales, Substitute Teacher 

17. Number of years in that occupation? 

I've worked in the wireless industry for about 8 years between my time at T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.  I'm just starting to substitute teach now and will be pursuing full time teaching soon. 

18. Any career advice you would give to an undergraduate Phi Psi today?

Don’t be in a rush. It’s ok to go back home after college if your folks will let you. Don’t be in a rush to get the apartment just so you can be free. Save your money. Even if you spend 6 months at home, you’d be surprised how much you can save if you budget quickly. Don’t get married too soon. You’ll change as much from 21 to 25 as you did from 18 to 21.

Engaged to my fiancée Jennifer who I have been with for three years. 

20. Do you have kids? If so, how old and their names? 

No kids.

21. Hobbies that you are currently into? What do you like to do in your spare time? 

Video games, UFC, sports, reading, baseball

22. Anything you would like to share with other brothers through the blog regarding your relationship/family/personal life?
I know I said don't be in a rush to get married, but if you find someone willing to support you in your dreams and your pursuit of happiness, then hold on to that person for as long as you can and be sure to reciprocate.
