Brother Interview: Mark Peterson '08

This week's brother interview is on brother Mark Peterson '08!

Basic Stuff:
1. Your name, as you would prefer it to be stated?
Mark Peterson

2. Your current location?
Woodstown, NJ

3. Your Facebook/Twitter account links?
4. Badge Number?
Badge Number 104

5. Pledge Class Name?
PI (Fall 08)

6. Fraternity Nickname, if you remember it?
Mulligan

7. Story behind how you got your nickname, if you remember it?
When I started coming out to the house I was not that interested in joining a fraternity, but Bob Schaefer, Mike Rumpolo, and Adam Goodman were going to be joining so I came out anyway. The joke around the house was that since my last name was "Peterson" they weren't going to let me join anyway. This was done in order to pick on Sean Peterson. So Marco said that I got a second chance even if my last name was Peterson, and being that I like golf I became Mulligan. (A do-over in golf terms).

8. Your fondest memory of being a Phi Psi?
Too many to choose from really. I guess being an educator. It was an honor to be charged with shaping a new group of potential Brothers and making sure that they were given the best start that they could get. For me it was important that they understand that you do not have to be GP to make a difference in our chapter. I never held any positions other than BG but was on many committees and headed a few as well so I wanted them to learn that being in a committee can have just as much impact as being GP.

9. Your most embarrassing moment as a Phi Psi?
During my pledging semester, when we still do push cart racing, we made a batmobile and Joe Valver was Robin with Anthony Martorano being Batman. Problem was Ant got 'sick' and couldn't do it the day of the race. Unknowing to me I was the next smallest guy (this is a lie) and I was told be get ready for the race. Well the child's medium batman costume that Ant could get in I could not. Marco and I went to Walmart and got some women's legging and some other odds and ends so that I would fit the part. Well lets say at the race I walked around in skin tight women's leggings for all the would to see. (No shorts overtop of the leggings I might add).

10. Your proudest moment as a Phi Psi?
Being initiated into the fraternity without a doubt.

11. Any unique memories from your time as a Phi Psi?
We started playing washers inside the house due to the rain during the warmer months. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

12. Any fraternal advice you would give to an undergraduate Phi Psi today?
Stay involved even as you get closer to graduation. You have seen a lot during your time and any new guys could use the advice. Stay committed to your duties within the fraternity and make the most of it while you can because real life isn't all its cracked up to be.

13. When was the last time you visited Rowan or the chapter?
I was at Rowan a few times for work stuff last year and I know I was at a recent initiation but I can't remember which one cause they all are starting to blend together.

14. What is favorite event the chapter holds?
My favorite event is an informal one where just Brothers get together at the house and have a good time. No girls or anyone else. It is a good time to reconnect with your Brothers.

15. Who's the 1 brother you want to reconnect with / see interviewed here?
