Donations

Yep, we need your money.  So does the mortgage company, the cable company, and the cell phone company.  So every dollar donated is greatly appreciated.  But where does your money go? It’s all up to you.

Donations can be directly to the chapter and immediately offset some of the financial costs of the chapter.  Such moneys provide an immediate benefit but are not tax deductible.  The easiest way to donate this way is to mail a check directly to the chapter at 411 Hamilton Rd Glassboro, NJ 08028

Here are some examples of how you can directly help the chapter.  $10 covers the cost of 2 cars crossing the bridge to Pat’s and Geno’s during rush.  $75 covers the cost of sending the President to the President Leadership Academy in Indianapolis.  $300 covers the registration cost for an undergraduate to attend WWLS or GAC. 

Donations can be made to the Chapter Scholarship Fund by visiting pkpfoundation.org and registering via email.  When making a donation please specify via the drop down menus that you want your donation to be applied to the chapter’s scholarship fund.

Donations to the CSF are tax deductible and provide long term benefits.  Each year 5% of the balance is made available for scholarship distributions.  Additionally, the principal can be made available as a loan to the house corporation. 

Lastly, donations can be made to the House Corporation.  Non-designated donations are applied to the corporation’s general fund and can be used to cover the costs of events like the Homecoming BBQ or for mailers.  Recently, the corporation paid the start up costs for the chapter to utilize a new website and the corporation has paid for the annual cost for the domain name.

Donations can be earmarked for the 137 Society. The 137 Society is composed of individuals who donate a minimum of $137 to the newly established fund dedicated exclusively to chapter housing.  It is named in honor of our chapter, 137th installed chapter of Phi Kappa Psi.  The goal is to raise the necessary funds for the purchase of a permanent chapter housing.  Donations will initially be used to generate a down payment and will later be used for maintenance, renovation, and upkeep of the house. Members will be recognized by a special lapel pin, and a donors section on the chapter website among other efforts from the chapter and the corporation.
